The model 1DAOBM-2, which I have developed, can be used to simulate the way carbon dioxide behaves in the atmosphere-ocean-biosphere system. In the former post I showed the simulation results of the yearly and cumulative CO2 flux rates. The 1DAOBM-2 can be used to simulate residence times and the future scenarios of different CO2 emission rates.

There is a real test carried out in the atmosphere nearing an end and it can be use...

Water vapor feedback has remained a topic of debate since 1990. The laymen do not know that water has an essential role in calculating the warming effects of GH gases. In all Anthropogenic Global Warming (AGW) models the Relative Humidity (RH) stays constant. It sounds like a very neutral and harmless assumption. When GH gases increase the atmospheric temperature, the constant RH means that the absolute amount of atmospheric w...

The first line media and as well some well-known politicians – for example Barack Obama - have said that there is the 97% consensus that the climate change is manmade or in other words that the AGW (Anthropogenic Global Warming) theory is a scientific fact.  A few weeks ago the leaders of 200 nations voted Paris on an international climate accord. These kinds of news would make it easy to believe for ordinary people that there...

The year 2015 is in the end. It is time to assess the validity of the IPCC’s model. I know that already this sentence irritates the IPCC organization. The reason is that IPCC should not carry out any research work and therefore there should be no IPCC’s own model. Anyway there is a presentation by name “Radiative Forcing by Emissions and Drivers” which includes a summary leading to the value of 2.34 W/m2 according to AR5 (Asse...

The climate change alarmists have created by the help of mainstream media an image that polar bears are near extinction. The reason for this false image is that polar bears are losing the hunting grounds because the arctic sea has been melting. The photo of a starving polar bear by Kerstin Langenberger became quickly one of the icons of the dangerous climate change, Fig. 1.

These kinds of photos create strong emotional feeling...

Petteri Taalas was appointed the new Secretary-General of the World Meteorological Organization (WMO) on 4th of June 2015 for the term 1.1.2016 - 31.12.2019, Fig.1.  Professor Petteri Taalas has acted as Director General of the Finnish Meteorological Institute from 2002.

There is a close link between IPCC and WMO. The Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) was established by the United Nations Environment Progra...

One of the most popular predictions as a result of global warming has been the ice free arctic sea. These predications have a long history. The scientists like professor Maslowski told BBC in 2007 that arctic sea will be ice free by 2013. These predictions have had influence on politicians like Al Gore and Senator John Kerry who said in 2009 “The truth is that the threat we face is not an abstract concern for the future. It is...

The U.S. Department of State hosted a major event in Anchorage, Alaska on August 30-31, 2015 entitled the Conference on Global Leadership in the Arctic: Cooperation, Innovation, Engagement and Resilience (GLACIER). GLACIER focused on the Arctic climate change. No commonly accepted results or decisions were achieved because of the resistance by Canada and by Russia. The mass media showed demonstrations, where people were worrie...

The IPCC’s model as well as the computer based GCMs (General Circulation Models) have encountered troubles due to the 18 year pause in global warming, Fig. 1. The IPCC’s latest model value is about 35 % greater than the observed temperature (1.15 C versus 0.85 C). According to IPCC, factors other than the anthropogenic drivers increase temperature less than 3 %. Because the error is so large, the dependency of the surface temp...

An US newspaper Daily Mail has published through its online version MailOnline  a report on 26 January 2015 by Sarah Griffiths that East Antarctica’s largest glacier Totten is melting. According to this news a group of Australian scientists have found surrounding waters 1.5 C warmer than expected. Totten Glacier is 120 km long and 30 km wide. According to this news this amount of water would cause a 6 meter rise in global sea...
